 The PUSH 'Matchstick Movie Tour', presented by Helly Hansen, storms into London on 6 December 2006 for its premiere, at the start of four UK screenings and parties. London?s Charlotte Street Hotel (invite only), will kick-start the tour which then continues at the Xscape SNO!zone in Milton Keynes, Castleford and Braehead on the 7, 8 and 9 December respectively. This extraordinary ski film features 15 extreme skiers traveling the globe throughout the winter. The film shadows the athletes as they fly by helicopter to access some of the world?s most remote mountains and incredibly spectacular ski areas. Athletes in the film include arguably the best half pipe skier in the world, Simon Dumont and Ingrid Backstrom, who blurs the lines between the men and women by throwing down with style from Norway to Alaska. Whistler Blackcomb spared no expense in building a huge 90ft tabletop jump, only to be destroyed by newcomer Sammy Carlson and third year MSP player Rory Bushfield in the session of the season. Plus Helly Hansen team rider and ?Skier of the Year 2005? Mark Abma, puts in another segment to make sure he?s nominated for the award again in 2007. The Godfather himself, Mike Douglas, leads the team on a journey of discovery to Japan and a fresh ski area in China. The ?PUSH? tour will kick-off in London on Wednesday 6 December at an invite only event taking place at the Charlotte Street Hotel. The night will then continue at a private party taking place at the glitzy and funky ?Club 101?, where DJs will storm the night through to the early hours. The tour continues on 7, 8 and 9 December 2006 with a series of free events at Xscape SNO!zone in Milton Keynes and Castleford. Freestyle nights will run at Milton Keynes* and Castleford* from 7pm till close. A jam session competition will take place at all venues prior to the premiere.
