The Outlaw is one of those skis that, given its size, actually feels good on groomed snow - you know it grips, there's enough energy to make you crack the odd smile, and stability is never troubled, but (you know) it's really a freerider so you take it on to some soft stuff and thenàà.. The 88mm waist just destroys whatever snow is in front of it, while the Progressive sidecut means more shape in the tip for effortless turn initiation and less shape in the tail for better release, giving a boost to performance in powder and crud. Add in the usual Apache features of Metal Laminate Construction, IBX bindings, MOD dampening, and a beautiful Fir and Aspen core, and you'll see why this ski had more skiers making more spontaneous, uncontrollable shouts than any other during glacier testing.
