The Mantra is a spectacular all-terrain ripper, updated for this season with a wider 96mm middle and a deeper sidecut. The Full Sensor Wood Core provides strength and life; the Power Construction with titanium reinforcement add torsional rigidity. Toughened steel edges are used for extra durability, aided by fat ‘Volkl’ keys to give further protection. It floats over soft snow, destroys variable conditions, it’s surprisingly responsive and even feels good on piste! This is a classic freeride ski, designed to handle all types of terrain and snow. It’s impressively versatile and testing showed that it can be pushed hard but isn’t difficult to ski. Ideal for advanced and expert freeriders, however, strong intermediates shouldn’t be put off.
