Bioflex Core » All T-Nine skis have K2’s excellent BioFlex core, a mix of 2 different woods. Rather than using this mix in layers, K2 have put spruce in the tip and tail, and fir under foot. The spruce is a softer, lighter wood which means the skis show the T-Nine’s characteristics of simple turn initiation, lightweight, and ease of use. The fir, being more solid and dense, provides a new-level of confidence inspiring control, stability and energy transfer.
M1 Binding System » Central to the design are M1 titanium hubs embedded into the core of the ski underfoot and enveloped in lightweight composite. This allows for a more balanced and centred fixture point. Fewer moving parts generates more power to the edge, quicker and more efficiently than conventional systems. Additionally, the construction of the M1 toe and heel spacers are 30% wider than other rail systems thus extending the contact points closer to the edge of the ski. This design increases leverage and power transfer. A fixed heel and floating toe drives power down and forward while still allowing the ski to flex freely.
Mod Technology » Mod Technology is a secondary core independent of the wood core and situated above it. This dampens vibrations without affecting the overall ski flex. The elastomeric material works as a high-performance suspension system and mass damper, therefore improves ski-to-snow contact.
Mod Monic » The Monic is a module integrated into the Mod Structure strategically placed on the part of the ski where vibrations occur most. It targets a specific area, so extra weight isn’t added. This allows for the majority of the Mod structure to be lightened, and have the extra mass focused precisely where it increases performance.
